Jackson County Democrats Thank County Executive Mike Sanders for Many Years of Service

Kansas City, MO – Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders will resign Dec. 31st. Sanders cited spending more time with his family as the reason for his resignation. Tom Wyrsch, Chairman of the Jackson County Democratic Committee, released the following statement:

“I am deeply grateful for the many years Executive Mike Sanders has served Jackson County, as well as the Democratic Party. Mike has diligently served Jackson County since 2002, first as Prosecutor and then County Executive. Among many successes and accomplishments, Mike has ensured that our County has had financial stability and success, and he spearheaded conversations about needed transportation proposals. He was also a strong leader as Chairman of the Missouri Democratic Party, and has been a tireless supporter of our local Jackson County Democratic Committee. On behalf of the Jackson County Democratic Committee, we give a heartfelt thanks to County Executive Mike Sanders for all he has done over his more than decade long leadership. We wish Mike, Georgia, and their sons and family the most happiness as they begin the next phase of their journey.”
