Save the Date: 10th Annual Chili Dinner

Jackson County Democrats with the help of our friends at Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 8 will be holding the annual Chili Dinner and Labor Rally benefiting the JCDC staff fund on November 2 as we make our final push before the election. Special guest will be Auditor Nicole Galloway.  Look for final details, additional guests and sponsors soon.

Candidate Profile: Travis Hagewood for State Representative

Each week, we'll be taking a look at candidates in Jackson County that are in great races that we can win in November.

Travis Hagewood, a union auto worker and real estate agent in Blue Springs, didn't consider himself a political person until the 2016 election of Eric Greitens, a man he knew would attack working families by pushing Right to Work and repealing prevailing wage laws. Feeling that he and other hard working citizens had become targets, Travis got educated on the issues and decided to run for State Representative reflecting the values of his community.  Travis will be a vocal advocate for public education and affordable college, fair access to healthcare, defending working families and protecting our environment.

The 31st House district is mostly Blue Springs east of Lake Jacomo and west of Adams Dairy Parkway. The seat is currently being held by a one-term Representative who was almost entirely funded by union busting donor David Humphries of Joplin.  Donate to Travis and learn more about his background HERE.

Do Your Part to Ensure Victory in November

From knocking doors, making phone calls, donating money or helping to provide rides to the polls, we all need to do something to get big wins in November. Visit one of the field offices and see what you can do.  Coordinated campaign offices are staffed at 3600 Broadway in Kansas City, 221 W Lexington in Independence, and 519 SE Melody Lane in Lee's Summit.  Every bit helps!
