Clay County special election is on June 5

First Things First

The special election to fill Senate District 17 is just two weeks away and is where the whole state is watching now.  Our candidate, State Representative Lauren Arthur, has built a strong coalition of working class families, public education supporters, and independent voices from Clay County that have been working hard for her since this was announced.  Thousands of voter contacts have been made and the results are starting to show.  Over the weekend, a new poll showed Arthur leading her opponent 47% - 41%.  But those numbers mean nothing if we don't keep working hard through election day on June 5th. Jackson County must do everything we can to help our friends to the North. Visit for more info and to volunteer or donate.

The 31st Annual Truman Gala is June 9th; Get Your Tickets Now!
Missouri's largest annual gathering of Democrats, Jackson County's own Truman Gala, is set for June 9th at Arrowhead Stadium.  You can buy your tickets online now as well as secure sponsorships and space in our program booklet.  This year's event will be critical toward raising the money needed to support our candidates in flipable districts in eastern Jackson County.  We will hear remarks from Senator Claire McCaskill, Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, Auditor Nicole Galloway and special guest Senator Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada.

Field Offices Opening - Supplies Needed

Senator McCaskill and the Democratic Party's coordinated campaign have opened many field offices across the state and more are planned later in the summer.  These local offices will be buzzing with activity between now and the November election and the main points for volunteers to get put to work.  Here in Jackson County, offices have been secured at 3600 Broadway in KC, 221 Lexington Ave on the Independence Square and at 291 and 50 Highways in Lee's Summit.  But for these offices to function while staying on a campaign budget, they need supplies donated from people like you.  Just about anything can be put to good use; printer paper, pens, clipboards and of course, the fuel that will keep campaign staff running, food and drinks.  Contact us to find out what you can send where.  Every bit counts!
